Croatia travel guide - Information for your holiday in Croatia
Croatia is becoming more and more popular among bicycle and mountanbike riders. Obviously this is due to the fact that you can enjoy the beautiful landscapes even more on a bike than through a car window.
The shady forest tracks and crushed stone roads in the mountains are a true challenge for hard bikers who don’t like cycling on asphalt roads. A particularly challenging tour awaits you near Makarska. It leads into the Biokovo mountains and reaches approx. 1,600 m above sea level. Once you have reached the top you can enjoy an amazing view of the Dalmatian coast. The way back is less exhausting as it runs mainly downhill.
Nature lovers who do not care so much about maximum power when cycling but want to enjoy the landscape, should choose an easy tour between blooming fields and meadows and along rivers and streams, e.g. in Plitvice National Park.
