Situated on a mild slope covered by olive-groves and pine forests, Gradac is an

Makarska Riviera but also on the entire Adriatic coast.

The traces of a Roman wall have been found on the locality of Crkvine, close to the sea. A two-storey quadrangular tower with loopholes, built in 1661 for the purpose
of defence from the Turks, has been preserved in a hamlet above the road. In the vicinity of the harbour is the village cemetery with an old, partly preserved
Baroque church.
