A special attraction of the region is the Vrelo cave in the immediate vicinity of Bajer Lake, 3 km from Fuzine, which features most various forms. It is therefore called "the small Postojna". The restaurant Vrelo offers specialities of the local cuisine. Forest vegetation and interesting mountain trails will attract many visitors and nature-lovers, who will wish to climb one of the peaks: Bitoraj (1,385 m), Visnjevica (1,428 m), Tuhobic (1,106 m), which offer a splendid view over the sea and the Kvarner islands. The holiday of St. Anthony, patron of Fuzine (13th of June), is at the same time a big public event. Especially famous is the Fuzinarska Fiesta, a tourist-gastronomic event (the last weekend in July) which attracts numerous visitors. FUZINE, a town in the central part of Gorski Kotar, situated above the Licanka valley, which was drowned into the storage lake Bajer after the construction of a dam; elevation 732 m. The name originates from Italian (fucina: forging works). The settlement developed by gradual settling of the people from the neighbouring region of Vinodol, from the former Military Border and from Slovenia, which is still visible in the local dialects (chakavian, stokavian and kajkavian). Due to its favourable geographical location amidst a mountain forest, an abundance of water and fresh mountain climate, Fuzine is a rather well known tourist resort. It is located on the railroad Zagreb - Rijeka and the regional road Lokve - Bakar. The church of St. Anthony of Padua was built in 1833 as a neo-style structure. The large three-nave basilica with a massive bell tower is the largest sacral building in the region of Gorski Kotar. In nearby Lic (4 km) is the parish church of St. George from 1807. Next to the church is the old municipal cemetery. On the eastern side of the Licko field is the pilgrimage chapel of Our Lady of the Snows. - Franjo Racki was born in Fuzine. A monument and a memorial park are dedicated to him.
